One of my favourite types of food is Chinese food whether it’s from a takeaway, restaurant, ready meal or even my attempt of home cooking – let’s face it my own homemade version is never as nice as the real deal. So the fact that I was invited down to the Royal China restaurant in Fulham to try out some of their menu including their dim sum dishes was amazing.
As soon as I saw the menu I instantly started drooling and even writing this post now I’m like a waterfall at the mouth, fair enough there was a few unique dishes such as chicken feet but that doesn’t put me off. I was actually semi tempted to try them! I know that in China they do sell chicken feet and they’re actually quite popular but if you didn’t know that fact you might be a bit taken back seeing that on the menu.
I have always been massive lover of dumplings and gyoza type dishes and their Prawn Dumplings and Deep Fried Prawn Dumplings are some of the best ones I have ever tasted, I could have both of them for every meal, every day. There wasn’t really anything that I ate that I didn’t like but I did try the Fresh Prawns Fried Noodles that I wasn’t 100% about and it had nothing to do with how the cooked it it’s just the dish itself isn’t for me.
I went with a friend who is a bit fussy about trying new things especially seafood but I made her try everything and she actually really liked them especially the Lobster and cheese rolls, she even enjoyed the Salt & Pepper Squid which she’s always convinced herself that she wouldn’t like! One thing that she did get was the Sweet and Sour Chicken with Pineapple and oh my it was amazing, every time I have sweet and sour chicken now I compare it to this one.
The prices for the dishes actually aren’t that bad either and I would definitely go recommend trying one of the Royal China restaurants since there’s actually many in London, there’s even one in Singapore!
