Do I love a liquid lipstick? Of course I do, I don’t think that surprises anyone really now, does it? I always have been and I’m pretty sure I always will be a massive liquid lipstick fan, I just can’t use a normal lipstick anymore – it’s not the same.
Since discovering the wonder that is Jeffree Star and living for the highlighters I couldn’t wait to get my hands on some of his liquid lipsticks. So I ended up picking up Posh Spice and Androgyny, I know I’m also surprised that I only bought two but the fact it I keep spending all my money on shoes and food so I had to chose, obviously the food won.
Out of the two shades my favourite one definitely has to be Posh Spice, it’s the most perfect grey/brown nude shade – which fair enough doesn’t sound all that appealing but it’s absolutely beautiful on. It does look a little ashy which is the best way I can describe it but honestly it’s just oh so beautiful, I haven’t stopped wearing it since I got it .
With Androgyny even though I love it there’s something about the shade I’m not too fond on and I think it’s to do with the fact that in my head I was expecting it to look completely different. When watched it’s a mixture between a dark red/pink shade which is beautiful but for me it’s just a bit too pink toned which doesn’t really look good with my olive skin tone.
The packing of these lipsticks I think has to be my favourite thing because, I mean just look at them! I think they’re so pretty to look at with the fact you can see the shades in the bullet easily and it has the signature Jeffree Star look with the pink lid and star design. It does take a while to get used to the applicator, I’m not sure why but it’s just different. I think it’s a lot more shaped to your lips than others which does make it a bit easier to use.
One thing that really surprised me about the formula of these is the fact that it’s actually really wet, so much so that when you apply it it does kind of feel like you’re putting on a gloss instead of a matte! It does dry after a couple of minutes through and even though the pigmentation is good I would recommend applying it twice to make sure the colour really shows.
Overall I’ve fallen head over heels in love with Posh Spice and I’m trying to love Androgyny, I’ll definitely be purchasing more shades soon though!
