I’m still not over the fact that it’s now 2017, not just that but it’s not February, I mean how is that even possible?
I feel like it’s still June 2014 in my mind, which is probably why I’m so confused. I decided that 2017 was going to be my year of being more adventurous, mainly because I’ve had this massive travel bug nagging in my ear for the past year or so and I need to take action.
I’ve been watching loads more adventure films this year such as In The Heart Of The Sea* (always been a fave), The Legend Of Tarzan*, The Wizard Of Oz*, Pan*, Mad Max* and Interstellar*. To some these films may not seem adventures in the slightest but going out to sea for months with strangers? Going to a while new country on your own where some weird and evil with is trying to kill you? Having a bad guy with a hook after you because you’re god damn awesome and youthful? Sounds pretty adventures to me.
I’m going to share my top tips for being more adventures this year which I mainly got from watching these movies, I know it might sound lame but it’s really working for me!
Don’t be afraid.
This one is a lot harder probably to follow since we all have fear in us, some more than others – Have I ever said that I’m a massive scaredy cat? But trying to overcome that fear and just doing it while pulling the bull by its horns (is that the saying? I honestly have no clue.) Will help you face it and do the things you want, fair enough it’ll be scary at first.
Just do it.
Don’t think about it snd just do it! Obviously this only emplies if there’s no complications such as someone dying, laws etc, but just jumping head first into something can be a great thing!
You will make friends.
I think this is one of the biggest things that’s always put me off solo travelling even though I extrememly want to do it and that’s the fact that I might not make any friends. I mean what if they don’t like me or think I’m weird? One thing that these films have thought me is that you will make friends and you don’t have to worry about being on your own all the time.
