Things To Do In Barcelona | Travel

How often do I talk about travelling? In real life probably at least once a day, on my blog. Not often enough, nowhere near enough.

I love travelling, I can’t help it and I’m pretty sure it runs in my blood with the fact my mam is a massive fan of wanderlust, plus my dad likes it a bit too. I just love everything about it but one of the cities I fell in love with was Barcelona, just everything about it was amazing and there’s so much to do that you’ll never be bored. I need that in a City since I tend to get bored extremely easily.

Here’s some of the things you need to do while you’re in Barcelona.

Go to the food market
This was a amazing experience and I would go back to Barcelona just for this. Walking around the food market and just seeing everything they have to offer from the fresh fruit, smoothies, seafood and even mini tapas restaurants you’re bound to find something to snack on walking around. Mine was the baby octopus . . .

the beauty bakerEat Paella on the waterside
I think this was my favourite thing to do simply because of my love for Paella. If you’re like me and you love paella in the UK or wherever you are you’ll absolutely adore it in Spain, mainly because it’s 10x better being from that country and all that.

Drink cocktails on the beach
I went in May when it was really warm with a nice cool breeze so I think it’s obvious we was going to sit on the wall of the beach when we walked past. there’s loads of people selling cocktails on the beach though and they do kind of make you feel like you need to buy one, but I’m so glad that I bought my mojito since a cocktail on the beach in Barcelona is fabulous.

Walk down las rambles
Everyone says Las Ramles is known for it’s pick pockets but when I was there I didn’t see one person get robbed. Don’t let that make you think that you won’t be though, always be safe. But I do recommend going down this super long street to see some sights, shoppers and those guys that dress up in those weird costumes.

barcelonaEat ALL of the donuts
The main reason that I went to Barcelona was for the donuts, is that bad? i saw loads of people uploading photos to Instagram of the donuts and it got me craving them so as soon as I knew I was going I had to google the whereabouts of the donuts. I’m doing a separate post about all of the donuts you need to try when you’re out there so make sure you keep an eye out for that.

Do a tapas tour
If you’ve seen my post on the tapas tour I did in Barcelona HERE you’ll know that it was one of the best things I did and I recommend everyone to give it a go.

Have churros
I mean why would you not have churros in the country of their origin? They taste so different to anything you would of every tried before that everytime you each churro outside of Spain you’ll feel like you’re just eating a greasy ball of mess.

Eat out every chance you get
Barcelona I found was extremely cheap to eat in so every chance you get eat out, try something new. There’s so many different things to try and meals you wouldn’t o even thought excited back here in the UK, plus brunch in Satan’s coffee is ah-maze-ing.

Why It’s Okay Not To Be Perfect | Lifestyle

One thing that I’ve always thought about growing up was reasons why I had to be perfect and the same as everybody else and until recently it’s that I’ve realised that’s not the case.

Everyone has they’re own idea of ‘perfect’ in their head and I think we all need to come through to the idea that no matter how hard we wish, work or try that might not ever happen and that’s okay.

It’s okay to be different to others and to have you’re own flaws and quirks, some people might find them quite and if they don’t, fuck them. Just try and be happy with yourself because as soon as you start believing that it’s okay not to be perfect, the better. No matter who you want to impress even if it’s a partner.

You never know, you might be someones idea of perfect as you are now, in a onesie, easting subway, watching gilmore girls in bed at 6pm on a Saturday evening. No just me doing that tonight? Perfect Saturday night in my opinion.

There’s so many people out there in the world that as soon as I see what they’re doing on Instagram, Twitter and what not I wish that was me. I can’t help it it’s my biggest flaw because my idea of perfection is basically the complete opposite of myself. I fell like in a way that’s what all of our ideas of perfections are.

Even though I said no matter how hard we try we’ll never be out idea of perfect we can get close enough if you really wanted to. For all these years I’ve been trying to be perfect but not the perfect that I actually desired, the type I was searching for was to be what I thought everybody else ‘perfect’ was and that was my fault.

Now I’ve booked my tattoo (shock horror, a ‘perfect’ girl wouldn’t have those,) got more ear piercings than the basic lobe (what?!) I’ve even booked my first solo trip into the big wide world, e.g., Valencia. Because of all of this I feel like I’m a lot happier (scared) and closer to my idea of perfect.

But nobody is, no matter how close I will be to my ‘perfect’ I will always have my flaws, imperfections and that’s okay because we all do.

I guess what I’m trying to say is that don’t worry that you’re not perfect to you because to someone out there, you’re perfect to them.

Why You Need To Visit Barcelona Food Markets | Travel

barcelona food market barcelona food market barcelona food markets

I am a massive foodie, always have been and always will be. I’ve always been facinated about food, from the flavours, textures and how it looks. So obviously finding out that Barcelona had a food market just off of St Rambles I had to take a detour back to my Air BnB to check it out.

If you ever go to Barcelona definitely make sure you check out the Barcelona Food Markets like this food market Mercado de La Boqueria at La Rambla, 91, 08001 It’s honestly so amazing and I would go back to Barcelona just to go back to this market. Although I didn’t actually know that there was so many different food markets in Berlin because I definitely would of tried them all out, but because this was the most raved about and easiest to find I’m glad I went to this one.

They sell so many different types of foods and drinks from fresh fruit juices which are absolutely devine so cooked baby octopus, which is also amazing. You can get seafood, cooked or raw (to cook at home, it’s not sushi.) Fruit, chocolate covered things, churros, meat, paella, cheese, loads of other cooked foods. There’s just so much to chose from that you will definitely want to visit more than once.

The octopus is something that I still dream about.

Be aware that it is usually super busy, I went on my own and did feel a little bit like a sardine in a tin. I also didn’t have enough arms to carry and eat everything I wanted. Also the only reason I bought this coconut is for the photo puposes, I think it was only about €1 and thought it would look great on my Instagram.

I would say to definitely give it a go at least once, have a sangria, eat some food, take loads of photos. Just enjoy yourself.

Kylie Lip Kits, Are They Worth It? | Beauty

I think everyone now has at least tried a Kylie lip kit or at least knows someone that owns one, myself included. I now have six I think lip kits and I’m here to give my honest opinion on them and whether or not I think they’re completely worth the money and the god awful shipping.

Honestly, I don’t. Don’t get me wrong I do really like the lip kits – mainly the liquid lipsticks but I don’t think they’re worth the $29 price or the roughly £15 customs charge you get. I will be purchasing some more of the liquid lipsticks int he future though because at $17 I don’t think that price is too bad, although you can definitely get the same quality for cheaper prices by NYX.

Let me just clear something – I do really like the liquid lipsticks, I’m just not a fan of the lip liners, I think the liners are kind of basic and I honestly prefer my £1 from Primark that I get. You’re definitely paying for the name of the brand and not the product with the lip liners in my opinion but with the lipsticks even though you’re still paying for the name the actual quality of these are great, or at least they are in my opinion.

I love the shades of them and the pigmentation but some of the shades and i have no idea why it’s only with some shades, are extremely drying, so much so that they’re basically unbearable. Someone once tried one of mine at work and had to remove it not long after because they said it felt like sandpaper on their lips, oh and the shade Leo bleeds like a bitch. An absolute massive bitch, even when I used the lip liner with it.

As I said you can definitely get some NYX lipsticks that are very similar in shade, pigmentation and feel for like half the price and no customs BUT the Kylie liquid lipsticks staying power is amazing, some of the best I’ve ever came across. I mean it takes a solid five minutes to remove it from my actual lips at the end of the day with a wet wipe and even then it stains a little. I know that may be a massive flaw to some people but it means you don’t have to worry about it coming off throughout the day – a little tip from me to you is that if you apply a chapstick over the top of the lipstick and then use a wet wipe it comes off so much easier!

Overall I recommend trying them out before buying them if you can, but I don’t recommend the lip liners at all. Definitely try the liquid lipsticks thought because I do love mine, mainly the shade 22 and Leo – despite the bleeding.

Why You Have To Go To Berlin In December | Travel

I can’t believe that it’s been a whole year near enough since I went to Berlin and fell in love with the City. Berlin as a whole is just amazing all year round but in December and at Christmas time it’s just phenomenal because it’s so festive with all of the Christmas Markets that you just have to go.

If you’re anything like me and you love a good ole Christmas Market or just Christmas as a whole you’ll absolutely adore Berlin, basically forget everything you think you know about a good market because what you’ll live, feel and see over seas is 10x better and I mean everything is better. The fairs are better, mulled wine, hot apple cider, Liqour hot chocolates, bratwurst – oh my the bratwurst. I am a massive fan of a good bratwurst anyway but the ones in Berlin are just something else.

You get such a amazing vibe there and all of the people I met are some of the nicest people ever, when me and my friend was lost and confused at the train station this lovely guy that barely spoke any English helped us the best he could without us asking for any help.

There’s just so may different types of markets over there from the more traditional ones, the more famous ones to the ones that juts totally crazy. I did write a post last year on my favourite Christmas Markets in Berlin here so you can get some type of idea on all the different ones, but honestly I didn’t not like any of them. Plus they’re all easy to get too and quite close together which is a massive win win.

I definitely recommend going to Berlin this December even if it’s for a weekend trip on your own because you won’t regret it!
